Competizione dell' Opera

The Competizione dell ' Opera is an international singing competition of Italian opera.

In 1996, with the "I Cestelli Competizione dell ' Opera ", an international competition for the Italian opera by Prof. Dr. Hermann Rough (President of the Academy of Music and Theatre in Hamburg ), Peter Ruzicka (Director of the Hamburg State Opera ) and Rainer Wulff ( NDR ) launched. After his passes in 1996 and 1998 in Hamburg, the competition was in 2001 and further passages 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2007 establish permanently in Dresden.

The participants of the competition will have to apply in the first round with six different arias of Italian opera for the semi-finals. The ten best in the semifinals can then participate in the Finals.

Today, internationally acclaimed singers were finalists and winners of the competition, so Marina Mescheriakova, Ashley Holland, Lado Ataneli, Anja Harteros, Carla Maria Izzo, Woo- Kyung Kim, Latonia Moore and many others. This competition has become a highly regarded talent exchange for young singers. The jury consists of representatives of European opera houses and festivals, artists, agents, singers, conductors, media and university representatives. The final concert will take place at the Semperoper. In 2008, the singer will be accompanied by the Radio Orchestra of the Saarland Radio.

2008, the competition from the Competizione dell ' Opera Association is under the umbrella of the Forum Tiberius - conducted International Forum for Culture and Business Dresden. Under the auspices of the Saxon State Minister for Science and Art, Eva- Maria Stange, the Competizione is cooperating dell ' Opera with the Saxon State Opera Dresden, Semperoper, the University of Music Carl Maria von Weber Dresden, Saxony Theater, the Central German Broadcasting and the Saarland Radio.
