Compound fruit

Collecting fruits are characterized by an intergrowth of individual fruits that come from all of the carpels of a single flower. They go out flowers with apokarpen (ie from several non- intergrown carpels ( pistils ) existing ) gynoecium forth. There are the following types of collection fruits:

In fruits like strawberry but also apple, pear, etc., there is a further peculiarity that the flesh is not itself originated from the ovary, but largely from the base of the flower. They may thus be referred to as false fruit.

Fruit, resulting from the coalescence of individual fruits of several flowers of an inflorescence, are now referred to as fruit dressing. A common term used to was the closed fruit stand.
