The British company Computacenter, based in Hatfield is a vendor- independent service for information technology. In 2010 Computacenter plc generated. with 10,514 employees generated sales of around EUR 3.08 billion.

In Germany Computacenter employed a 2010 4.169 employees at 22 locations nationwide distributed. The 2010 generated sales in Germany amounted to 1.18 billion euros. Computacenter Germany was created in early 2003 through the sale of the company CompuNet to the English Computacenter PLC. Largely unnoticed by the public Computacenter has established itself as an outsourcing provider in recent years and gained a leading role, especially in client mode.

History CompuNet

The CompuNet Computer Vertriebs -GmbH was founded in 1984 by Jost Stoll man. 1996 bought the largest U.S. electronics giant General Electric, the company; it no longer wore the name GE CompuNet. The end of 2002 the company was sold to the British company Computacenter. After a short transition period under the name CC CompuNet the name Computacenter has also been introduced in Germany.

1981 founded Philip Hulme and Peter Ogden in the UK the company Computacenter. Originally the company was to be called Computer Center. However, this was not possible because of an already existing entry in the commercial register. This created the unusual spelling with the letter 'a' in the middle.

1994 Computacenter was the British IT company with the most employees. In 1995, the Group posted sales of 500 million pounds 1750 employees. After conversion into a public limited company (public limited company) whose shares are traded on the London Stock Exchange since 1998. In January 2003 Computacenter took over from General Electric GE CompuNet again in Germany and Austria in Austria GECITS and sold the latter in 2005 continue working closely to the Austrian company S & T, with Computacenter in Central and Eastern Europe. 2009 took over from Computacenter TDMi its German subsidiary becom to expand the range of services on the mainframe. 2010 Computacenter bought the French Top info and integrated them into Computacenter France. 2011 Swiss Damax and the Apple system house HSD Consult were acquired in Germany.
