Computerized Maintenance Management System
The term Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS, on German about computer -aided maintenance management system, and enterprise asset management ) describes the systematic support of maintenance processes through software.
CMMS software manages maintenance-relevant information in a database. This database supports the daily operations of maintenance (for example, providing ordering information for replacement parts) and can be used as a basis for optimization of maintenance processes used (example: optimization of downtime by bringing forward of inspections).
Typical components of the CMMS are:
- Management of maintenance and inspection plans ( periodic tasks)
- Maintenance jobs: management, planning, cost control and documentation
- Asset management: device data, manuals, checklists, warranty information, service interval, service contracts, purchase date, expected lifetime
- Warehouse management: administration and organization of spare parts, tools, tools and consumables
- Statistical analysis: Number of necessary maintenance, date of last inspection, run-time information
- Evaluations and reports in support of a continuous improvement process (CIP ) Metrics calculation according to DIN
- Comparison of planned and actual data (such as time, materials, costs)
- Asset Returns
