Comun Nuovo

Comun Nuovo is a municipality in the Province of Bergamo in the Italian region Lombardy with 4277 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012).

Geography

Comun Nuovo is located 9 km south of the provincial capital city of Bergamo and 40 km northeast of the city of Milan.

The neighboring municipalities are Levate, Spirano, Stezzano, Urgnano, Verdello and Zanica.

Attractions

In the center are still plenty of traces of the Middle Ages. These include the castle of the Suardi family, along with supporting tower, which is now used as the bell tower of the parish church.

The church of San Salvatore was built in the 16th century and restored in the early 20th century. In the church there is an altarpiece by Giovanni Battista Moroni.
