Con Walsh
Con Walsh (actually Cornelius E. Walsh; born April 24, 1881 † 1942) was a Canadian athlete of Irish origin, who in 1910 was active as a hammer thrower in years. About him the following is narrated:
- Two-fold participation in the All Ireland Football Final Cork Caelic
- Winning the bronze medal with a capacity of 48.51 m behind the Americans John Flanagan ( gold with 51.93 meters ) and Matt McGrath ( silver with 51.18 meters ) at the Olympic Summer Games 1908 in London
- Winning the AAU Championship in 1911 with 54.11 m
About his fate nothing is known with certainty. It is believed that he emigrated to the USA and settled in Seattle, where he worked as a police officer.
