Shell molluscs ( Conchifera ) are molluscs with a primarily one-piece shell with the typical three-layer structure of mollusc shells. These include the Contracts Manager ( Monoplacophora ), the snails ( Gastropoda ), cephalopods ( Cephalopoda ) and the Kahnfüßer ( Scaphopoda ) and mussels ( Bivalvia ). In addition, the extinct beak Schaler ( rostroconchs ) and the Helcionelliden ( Helcionellida ) are expected to shell molluscs Conchifera. In addition to the shell, especially the structure of the jaw, the possession of paired statocysts and the lack of a comprehensive skin ( cuticle ) founded this group.

Within the shell molluscs, the bivalves are Bandy ( Cyrtosoma ( 1 ) ) formed with the Einschalern, snails and cephalopods and the Stretched Saddle learning ( Diasoma ( 2 ) ) with the Kahnfüßern and the mussels compared. For these groups speak the different tendency of shell formation ( spiral at first ), the specific part of the limestone layer in the shell (in the second ) and the formation of a U-shaped intestine ( at first ).

As the sister group of the shell molluscs are compared with the spiked molluscs ( Aculifera ), alternatively even the chitons (see sting molluscs):

Chitons ( Polyplacophora )

Schildfüßer ( Caudofoveata )

Furchenfüßer ( Solenogastres )

Helcionelliden ( Helcionellida ) †

Cephalopods ( Cephalopoda )

Contracts Manager ( Monoplacophora )

Snails ( Gastropoda )

Schnabel Schaler ( rostroconchs ) †
