Conchita Bautista

Conchita Bautista (aka: María Concepción Bautista Fernández, born October 27, 1936 in Seville ) is a Spanish singer and actress.

At a young age she came from her native Andalusia to Madrid, where she was able to quickly establish itself as an actress and singer. Her interpretations of Andalusian music have earned her a recording contract with Columbia Records Spain. You could from the Spanish preselection for the Grand Prix Euro Vision 1961 emerge as the winner and finished the competition in Cannes with their title Estando Contigo then the ninth. Estando Contigo was the first contribution of Spain ever in the history of the competition. In 1965 she was also the Euro Vision Song Contest, this time in Naples. There she got for her title Qué bueno, qué bueno no point and was like Germany, Belgium and Finland last.

In her other life, she had a number of minor roles and singing appearances on Spanish television.
