Condrieu

Condrieu is a commune with 3828 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Rhône, Rhône- Alpes. It lies on the right bank of the Rhône River, about 11 km south of the town of Vienne, and 44 km south of the city of Lyon.

Condrieu, there are, according to some historians since the 3rd century BC Pliny the Elder reported by existing viticulture in the region.

Viticulture in Condrieu

The yield is limited to 37 hl / ha per year on average 4,100 hectoliters of wine are produced and marketed.

The wines can be aromatic, with hints of violet, peach or apricot and should be drunk young. Recently, attempts are made with the expansion in barriques and with late harvests.
