Confolent-Port-Dieu

Confolent - Port-Dieu ( Confolens in Occitan ) is a commune with 27 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Corrèze, in the Limousin region. The municipality is a member of the Association of Municipalities Plateau Bortois.

Geography

The municipality is located in the Massif Central on the right side at the mouth of Chavanon in the Dordogne and north-west of the reservoir of Bort- les- Orgues and thus also close to the border with the Puy-de -Dôme.

Tulle, prefecture of the department is located, about 90 kilometers south-west, about 17 kilometers west Ussel and Bort- les- Orgues about 20 kilometers to the south.

Neighboring communities Confolent - Port-Dieu are Savennes in the north, Singles in the northeast, Larodde in the east, in the southeast Labessette, Monestier- Port-Dieu in the south, Thalamy in the west and Saint- Étienne- aux- Clos in the northwest.

Traffic

The village is located about 15 kilometers southeast of the junction 24 of the A89 autoroute.

History

The name Confolent - Port-Dieu is a reference to the market town of Port-Dieu, which was flooded by the construction of the reservoir of Bort- les- Orgues.
