Congress for Democratic Change

The Congress for Democratic Change ( CDC shortcuts, German Congress for Democratic Change ) is a Liberian political party which was formed by the followers of the presidential candidacy of George Weah in 2005.

In the elections on 11 October 2005 Weah presented in the survey for the Präsidentschaftswahlerstmals 28.3 % of the vote. He was defeated by Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of the Unity Party - in the run-off election on November 8, he won 40.6 % of the vote compared to Johnson -Sirleaf with 59.4 % voting share.

The party won 3 seats in the Liberian Senate and 15 in the House of Representatives of Liberia and is the largest opposition party in the country.
