Congress of Racial Equality

The Congress of Racial Equality (CORE ) is a civil rights organization founded in 1942 jointly by white and black opponents of racial segregation that already sit-ins began as a means of protest in the 1940s. CORE was in the 1960s, along with the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee ( SNCC ), the most active civil rights movement.
