Connaissance des temps

The Connaissance des temps is the official astronomical yearbook in France.

Content and appearance

The yearbook contains the information necessary for the use of bases and in a part of the table the ephemeris of the sun, moon, planets and the major planets moons in a first part.

There is also a companion volume with explanations is not updated each year (see references below).

The French astronomer Jean Picard founded the " Connaissance des temps ou célestes of Movements " ( knowledge of the times or the celestial motions ), which is the first national ephemeris ever appeared for the year 1679. In the years 1760-1776 the work of Jérôme Lalande was issued.
