Connectors for car audio#ISO 10487

The ISO 10487 is an ISO standard to standardize the connection plug for the car radio and other audio devices in motor vehicles.

Standard

The standard ISO 10487 defined in Part 1 of the 1992 connector and their pin assignment Part 2 1995 their electrical requirements.

Plug

In many vehicle models will use the plug and is usually abbreviated as ISO plug.

However, some car manufacturers use their own contact assignments, especially the terminal 15 ( ignition positive ) and 30 ( permanent plus ) are often interchanged. This is reflected in the fact that the radio with the ignition off can not be turned on and the settings are lost.

Many radios have the expander module, which is divided into three segments.

  • C1 (yellow plug ): Here are the four pre-amp signals for operating a power amplifier. In addition, a control line available to the amplifier on and off.
