Connichi
The Connichi is held annually, three-day anime convention, which is organized by the association Animexx eV. It is the largest organized exclusively by fans for fans anime and manga event in Germany.
Development
The Connichi was held for the first time in May 2002 in Ludwigshafen. Since 2003 she has held every year in September at Kongress Palais Kassel (former Stadthalle Kassel) instead.
The number of visitors rose from 1,500 in 2002 to 12,000 in 2006. For 2007, a total of 13,500 and 14,300 visitors in 2008 were given. The previous record was achieved in 2013 with 24,000 visitors. This was, inter alia, achieved by the installation of the so-called town hall colonnades.
Program
The program Connichi includes, inter alia, video rooms, "Bring and Buy " ( flea market ), a manga library, exhibitor and dealer rooms, Go and Trading Card areas as well as numerous competitions ( the oldest German Anime Music Video competition, cosplay, doujinshi, video games, Nudelschlürfwettbewerb etc. ) and workshops ( manga drawing, coloring, etc.). In addition, visitors have the opportunity to courses on Japanese culture such as origami, Japanese tea ceremony, calligraphy or Japanese to visit.
On the main stage performances are held German and Japanese artists and dance groups. In addition, special guests from Japan, Germany and other countries participate in discussions and autograph sessions.
The Connichi is, since 2005, the venue for the preliminary of the international cosplay World Cosplay Summit competition whose finals will be held annually and transmitted by the Japanese broadcaster TV Aichi in Nagoya.
Parallel to the main event found from 2005 to 2009 in the Kassel Nachthallen concerts and a J -rock disco place in which German and foreign Visual Kei and J- rock groups occur and a private Visual Cosplay takes place. Since 2010 exclusive Anime Films are shown in collaboration with the Gloria Kino Kassel, such as Ponyo - The great adventure on the sea in a Germany premiere.
Some areas are visitable without a ticket, such as the park and the flea market. These visitors are not counted.
