Connie Mack is a member of a famous political family. His father, Connie Mack III ( born 1940 ) sat for the State of Florida 1983-2000 in both chambers of Congress. Like his father, Mack carries not his real name, but a nickname. This goes back to his great-grandfather, Connie Mack, one of the greatest figures in American baseball sport that never officially changed his birth name, was under this but practically unknown.

Between 2000 and 2003, Mack was a deputy in the House of Representatives from Florida. In the congressional elections of 2004 he was in the 14th electoral district of Florida in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Porter Goss on January 3, 2005. Mack was a member of the Budget Committee, the Foreign Affairs Committee and the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.

After three elections ( most recently in 2010 ) ended his seat in Congress on January 3, 2013, because he no longer took in the 2012 election for this seat. Instead, he ran for a seat in the U.S. Senate. In the Senate election in November 2012 Connie Mack was defeated by incumbent Bill Nelson clearly.

Connie Mack has two children from his first marriage. Since 2007, he is married to the (now former ) California Congressman Mary Bono Mack, the widow of Sonny Bono.
