The Battle of Adrian Opel ended in a victory for the Ottoman Empire. The battle marked the end of the Byzantine Empire as a territorial power in the Balkans dar. Shortly after the battle, the Ottomans laid their capital from Bursa to Adrian Opel. The city offered an excellent base of operations for expeditions against the weakened Serbia and Bulgaria.
