Conrad of Mure

Konrad von Mure ( * ca 1210 Muri AG, † March 30, 1281 in Zurich ) was choir master and conductor of the collegiate school at Zurich Grossmünsterplatz and author of Latin didactic poems.

Life

Konrad von Mure probably originates from the vicinity of Aargau monastery Muri. With its Habsburg screen Vogt and later King Rudolf he was acquainted. The studies, he will have completed in Bologna or Paris with a Master. Since 1233 he had benefice at large cathedral in Zurich, where he was head of the seminary. From 1244 he was there from 1259 cantor and choir master. Konrad von Mure remained until his death in Zurich and was buried in St. Mary's Chapel of the pen in 1281.
