Consorzio Suonatori Indipendenti

Consorzio Suonatori Indipendienti (Italian as " cooperative independent minstrels " ) is a left Italian rock band. C.S.I. Founded in 1992 by members of the art-punk band CCCP Fedeli alla linea. The name variation derives from the changed designation of the former Soviet Union CCCP, CSI: Confederazione states Indipendenti

The pieces are characterized by a darkly atmospheric mood, and often contain elements of folklore. Other influences are blues, punk and experimental music of the early 80s - the predecessor band CCCP Founded in 1982 in Berlin had musically among others oriented to the Einstürzende Neubauten, and this influence is on CSI still clearly visible. Characteristic is the monotone vocals of the singer Giovanni Lindo Ferretti. The lyrics deal with political and socio-critical issues.

The great commercial success of the band's last studio album, Tabula Rasa Elettrificata (No. 1 of the Italian charts 1997) introduced the idea of the band as an "alternative group " in question. This identity crisis eventually led to the dissolution of CSI in 2000.

The members of C.S.I. continue their work since 2001 as P.G.R. ( Per Grazia Ricevuta ) away.
