Constantin Braun

Constantin Braun ( born March 11, 1988 in Lampertheim ) is a German professional ice hockey player who plays in the German Ice Hockey League for the polar bears of Berlin since the 2006/07 season. Originally used as a winger, he was retrained to defender during the season 2008 /09. His brother Laurin is also hockey players at the polar bear Berlin.

Career

Brown began his hockey career in the youth department of the Adler Mannheim. With good performances he was doing there attention to himself, and changed for the season 2004/ 05 to the polar bears Juniors Berlin in the third highest German league. However, he came mostly for the Berlin DNL team to use and completed only one game in the big leagues.

In the following two years, Brown played for three different teams of polar bears Berlin, both among professionals in the DEL and in the juniors in the German junior league and league. Furthermore, he came to a total of 40 games in the DEL.

In the NHL Entry Draft 2006 Constantin Braun of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League was selected in the sixth round to total 146 point. The winger was initially in Germany and finally made the breakthrough in the polar bear Berlin. The season 2007/ 08 was one of the most successful of his career as he established himself in the DEL team and at the end of the season won the German championship.

With the polar bear he won in 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013, again the German Cup. In October 2009 he received a mining license for Dresdner Eislöwen, the cooperation partner of polar bears in the 2nd Bundesliga to gain match practice after recovering from a shoulder injury. But it was no use in the Eislöwen.

On August 2, 2013 Brown announced that he was in a personal crisis and at this time, take a break, since he had gone to medical treatment. On November 22, 2013, was the first time back in the squad of polar bears.

Internationally

In addition to its operations in the DEL Brown played regularly for all of the German Ice Hockey Federation junior teams. In 2010 he got the first call to the men's national team, with whom he finished in fourth place at the World Cup 2010.
