The company was founded in 1816 as Gas Light Company of Baltimore. Constellation Energy operates 35 power plants in 11 U.S. states (mainly Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York and California). Among other things, it is the owner of the nuclear power plant Calvert Cliffs.
In April 2011, the U.S. company Exelon takes over the company Constellation Energy.
