Consuegra Dam

The Consuegra Dam was a Roman dam, which was fed by the waters of the Amarguillo in Guadiana Basin. It is located west of Consuegra in Toledo province in the Spanish autonomous community of Castile -La Mancha. Get the 4.80 meters high and 2.80 meters thick at the base of buttress dam from the 3rd or 4th century AD, which had a crest length of about 630 meters. The reservoir was because of this length and therefore required large number of supporting pillars, the system despite their low height a major construction dar. Fed by the low-tide in summer Amarguillo, one of the headwaters of the Guadiana.
