Consumables

Consumables is a term used in the procurement and logistics in craft and service sectors. From an accounting point they are managed as business expenses.

Type

Underneath material is understood, which is essential for the complete functionality of a device or addressing service tasks. In companies this should, as the stock of the device-specific replacement parts are part of the spare parts logistics, which in turn is a sub-discipline of procurement logistics.

Examples

Examples are toner and staples in a copying machine or thermal paper in a fax machine. Also heard on the subject of coffee filters and coffee powder for a coffee machine, laundry detergent for a washing machine, blocks a rim brake with bowden cable of a bicycle etc. Even materials that are consumed in schools and other institutions to fulfill the education task ( paper, chalk, glue, etc.) as well as detergent for the cleaning staff, screws, light bulbs and other consumables considered for the caretaker, .... chemicals for teaching in schools or inspection stickers or Kfz-Briefe/Kfz-Scheine of the Road Traffic office or the Admissions Office as consumables.
