Contact call

Stimmfühlung is the name for a special form of communication through certain vocalizations in animals ( by so-called Stimmfühlungslaute ) and - figuratively - in humans.

Stimmfühlungslaute primarily serve the cohesion of a social group. This can, as the smallest identifiable group, only two individuals, for example, father and child, mother and child, or males and females, as well as larger organizations, such as a flock of birds or a larger group of guinea pigs and bats. Particularly striking are the loud and constantly generated Stimmfühlungslaute migratory cranes, where even absolute layman can distinguish the rather gruff tones of adult animals of the significantly lighter sounds of young birds.

Many young animals login with special Stimmfühlungslauten ( with so-called Call of abandonment ) if they can no longer perceive their parents, causing it in turn regularly on special Stimmfühlungslauten (Answer). Experienced behavior observer can ( in order to remain in Lautfühlung when close contact is not possible ) such sounds that serve to maintain the contact to conspecifics in the first place, without problems, for example, of begging sounds of fear sounds of Drohlauten, of sounds to the mark of the district or differ from Balzrufen.
