Contimporanul

Contimporanul ( in German: The contemporary ) was a Romanian group of artists and avant-garde magazine of the 1920s and 1930s.

The magazine was published (with some interruptions) from 1922 to 1933; first weekly and then monthly. It is considered the most important organ of the Romanian avant-garde of the first half of the 20th century. The proclaimed by its editors, Marcel Janco and Vinea Ion Anti bourgeois allied himself since 1924 with the concept of constructivism. It was geared towards cooperation between international avant-garde movements. In it, representatives of various arts divisions had their say, both Romanian, as well as foreign artists.
