Contour line#Magnetism

A Isogone is an imaginary line connecting places of equal declination, ie, the same deviation from magnetic north to true north. With the help of Isogonals in maps so can the magnetic north of a compass corrected and the actual geographic north direction can be determined.

If the declination is zero, the Isogone is also called agone.
