Control point (orienteering)

Items must be on objects that are registered in the map. The exact location of the item on this object is specified in the post description.

For training purposes, often only post screens or other smaller markers are used. If in a country area, such markings permanently attached to provide a permanent training opportunity, then one speaks of a Fixpostennetz. In Sweden, for example, there are over 500 such public Fixpostennetze.
