Cooperative Patent Classification

The Cooperative Patent Classification ( CPC ) is a patent classification system that was developed jointly by the European Patent Office ( EPO ) and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office ( U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, USPTO).

From 1 January 2013, this classification system in the EPA the basis for the classification of technological inventions in the patent grant is, replacing the previous ECLA from. The USPTO is " in due course " done the replacement of the USPC.
