Copley Medal

The Copley Medal (English Copley Medal ) is awarded one of the UK's Royal Society prize for scientists of all disciplines. It is the oldest and most highly endowed of regularly awarded by the Royal Society Awards. The Copley Medal is awarded annually since 1731 to a scientist. The medal is named after Godfrey Copley, who was a wealthy landowner and himself a member of the Royal Society. It is silver plated and comes with a prize money of £ 5,000. Among the outstanding scientists are Charles Darwin, Albert Einstein and Jean Bernard Léon Foucault.
