Copley Township is one of nine townships of Summit County, Ohio, United States. The 2000 census showed 13,641 people in the township.
History
During the British - American War came in 1813, Major George Croghan in this area and suggested at today a camp on Smith Road, before moving further west. One of his soldiers was Jonah Turner from Pennsylvania, who decided to return later to this area in order to cultivate the land, should he survive the war. 1814 Jonah Turner was the first settler in the area of the later Copley townships.
