Coptic Museum
The Coptic Museum in Cairo was founded by Marcos Smeika Pasha in 1910 and completed at the end of the 1920s. It is in the Coptic area of Cairo, near the historic Roman fortress "Babylon".
The museum documents the history of Christianity in Egypt. Over 16,000 items (icons, paintings, religious art, manuscripts in various languages) are issued in 12 departments. The museum has been expanded several times since its inception.
