Copybook (programming)
In the programming referred to Include ( engl. include, include '), a routine or a file description that is required by several programs of a program system in the same form. To avoid redundant code in the source code of the programs, the includes a program system are centrally stored as include files in a library. Immediately prior to compiling a program in machine language, the preprocessor inserts copies of the required Includes on those parts of the program that have been marked by the programmer with an include statement and the name of the include.
