Coquina

As Schillkalk ( Muschelbrekzie, Lumachelle, Schalentrümmerkalk, limestone ) is called a limestone, which consists almost entirely of fossils of dead animals (bivalves, snails or their fragments ). It is sedimentary rock, clay and iron oxides consisting of calcium carbonate CaCO3. These rocks are kalkgebunden and they have either open spaces or they are filled with lime sludge and solidified. The coloring is mostly beige to reddish brown.

As Schill deposits of animal skeletons of lime are called, due especially to the sea shores.
