Corallus annulatus blombergi

Corallus blombergi is a species of snake in the family of boas ( Boidae ). It comes in Ecuador west of the Andes in forest areas, usually below 200 meters before. The species was considered a long time as a southern subspecies of Ringelboa ( Corallus annulatus ). The distribution of the two species is clearly separated.

Features

Corallus blombergi reaches a length of up to 143 centimeters. The ground color of the body ranges from bright orange on pale brown to dark brown. The back has a darker pattern, the diamond- shaped from 40 to 43, consists in the midsection rather oval, dark elements, the center of which is paler than the color. The head has one or two stripe above the eye and one or no under on. The belly is dirty yellow, pale brown or pink with darker points or spots that are more pronounced in the front area.
