Corentin Louis Kervran

Corentin Louis Kervran (* 1901 in Quimper, Brittany; † 2 February 1983) was a French scientist. He had completed his training as an engineer in physics in 1925. In 1936 he found out experimentally that the conductivity of the human body does not follow Ohm's law.

Life

Corentin Louis Kervran best known for his theory that living things like plants and animals to the physical transformation of elements are capable (see alchemy, transmutation). He tried to explain, among other things, why " chickens can lay new eggs with normal calcium shells constantly, even if their food contains no lime ".

As a senior government official, he worked in various French ministries and responsible among other things for the field of occupational health and the issue of safety of the public to radioactive pollution. From 1959 to Kervran came with his findings to the public, and wrote a total of nine books, none of which appeared in German. An introductory summary of his ideas and experiments ( from three of these books) appeared in English in 1972 under the title Biological Transmutations ( reissued in 1989 and 1998). In the 1960s it came to France to a public debate over his theories, but not in Germany. His concept of transformation of chemical elements at low energy ( " Frittage " ) he is aware from the nuclear fusion.

The theories on the transmutation play a certain role in esoteric circles. 1993 Kervran was posthumously awarded the Ig Nobel Prize, which is awarded annually for quirky and " not reproducible " ( improbable ) contributions given to science.
