Corey Tropp

Corey Tropp ( born July 25, 1989 in Grosse Pointe, Michigan ) is an American professional ice hockey player in the position of right winger. Since November 2013 he is with the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Tropp began his career with the Sioux Falls Stampede in the United States Hockey League ( USHL ), where he was active from 2005 to 2007. In the season 2006/ 07 he won the Stampede the Clark Cup, the championship trophy of the USHL. Then Corey Tropp was selected at the NHL Entry Draft in 2007 in the third round at 89th overall position of the Buffalo Sabres. After the draft, he attended three years, the Michigan State University and played for their hockey team, the Michigan State Spartans in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association ( CCHA ). At the end of his final junior season 2009/10 the offensive player was elected to the CCHA Second All- Star Team. On July 6, 2010 Tropp signed an entry-level contract with the Buffalo Sabres.

He spent his first season as a professional player complete with Buffalo's farm team, the Portland Pirates in the American Hockey League ( AHL ). His first try in the National Hockey League ( NHL) had Tropp November 4, 2011 with a game the Sabres against the Calgary Flames. His first goal he scored two games on November 8 against goalie Ondrej Pavelec of the Winnipeg Jets. Overall, Corey Tropp graduated in the NHL season 2011/12 34 games for the Buffalo Sabres, thereby pass him eight points scorer. In addition, he came in 27 AHL games for Buffalo's new Farm Team Rochester Americans used.

In the 2013/14 season he was at the beginning of the Sabres in the squad, but the end of November was sent back to AHL to make room for the new Matt D' Agostini committed place in the squad. When he was the waiver to happen, he was bound by the Columbus Blue Jackets.
