Corinne Wood

Corinne J. Wood ( born May 28, 1954 in Barrington, Illinois) is an American politician. Between 1999 and 2003 she was Deputy Governor of the State of Illinois.

Career

Corinne Gieseke, so her maiden name, graduated from the University of Illinois. After a subsequent study of law at Loyola University in Chicago and her admission to the bar, she began to work in this profession. Later, she was legal advisor to the State Representative for banks and large corporations. Politically, she joined the Republican Party. Prior to her tenure as Deputy Governor, she sat for some time in the House of Representatives from Illinois.

1998 Wood was elected to the side of George Ryan for Vice Governor of Illinois. This office she held between 11 January 1999 to 13 January 2003. Yet she was Deputy Governor. In this office, she sat down for a particularly improvements in health care, for economic development and the promotion of rural areas. In 2002, she failed in the Governor their party primaries.

Corinne Wood is a member of several companies and organizations. She is married to a banker and mother of three children.
