Corinnid sac spider

Supunna sp.

The beef sack spiders ( Corinnidae ) are a cosmopolitan spider family from the order of spiders. The family includes 80 genera with about 950 species, which are grouped into three subfamilies. Many of the species reminiscent of the phenomenon strongly ants. They are ground alive and colonize forest areas. In Central Europe the family is represented by six species in two genera ( Cetonana, Phrulolithus ).

Features

The representatives of the beef bag spiders measure between three and ten millimeters. Depending on the family, they are colored differently: While the Trachelinae have a bright abdomen ( tummy) and a bright red to red- brown anterior dorsal shield ( carapace ), the other two subfamilies Castianeirinae and Corin Ninae are dark. The Castianeirinae go breaking into a Metallic and often exhibit by spring-like bristles on adjacent strips formed or other patterns. The third subfamily, Corin Ninae tends to yellowish brown. The abdomen is in all subfamilies occupied by white hairs that form transverse bands or spots.

The viewed from above ovate carapace is often heavily sclerotized. From the side it is stretched when the ant -like animals. The eight eyes are arranged in two rows of four. In the subfamily Corin Ninae the middle, anterior two eyes are mounted on a hill. The flat to vaulted breastplate ( sternum) ends abruptly just before the approach of the rear legs.

And is ovoid and the abdomen tends to sklerotisieren. The ant species resembling it is stretched. The respiratory system consists of two book lungs and confined to the abdomen tracheal system. The air holes the book lungs are located near the spinnerets. While the two front, strong spinnerets are very tight, the rear pair is further separated from each other. The females have on the front of spinnerets three silk glands on the rear two silk glands. The species of the subfamily Trachelinae may also have more access to spin glands. The Colulus is triangular and sclerotized.

In ant -like species, the legs are long and slender, otherwise they are rather stout and covered with bristles. There are also, except for the Trachelinae, strong thorns. Sitting at the Tarsi two claws, Tastsinnesorgane and underdeveloped hair cushion, called Scopulae that are used to running on smooth surfaces. The Chilum mentioned, small sclerites at the base of the chelicerae, just below the face plate are well developed and consist usually of only one part. The chelicerae themselves are strong and strongly convex. They are set with two rows of teeth. The lower lip ( labium ) is slightly convex and indented at the sides.
