Corne de Sorebois

The Corne de Sorebois is a mountain west of the resort of Zinal in the canton of Valais, Switzerland. The mountain with an altitude of 2'896 m above sea level. M. lies north of the Garde de Bordon. The two mountains separate the Val d' Anniviers Val de Moiry with the resort of Grimentz and the Val de Zinal with the resort of Zinal. To the east lies in the Val de Moiry the Lac de Moiry.

From Zinal since 1967 performs a cable car to the 2,438 m above sea level. M. -altitude mountain station Sorebois. The cabins were renovated in 2007. The lift gives access to the ski resort of Zinal, which consists of 70 km of slopes. The main slopes with artificial snow. In addition to the cable car are two chair lifts and 5 ski lifts to the skiers. In the late fall of 2013 a new, currently is under construction cableway is opened. It runs from the base station in Grimentz on the ridge below the summit of Corne de Sorebois. The new railway connects the two ski resorts of Grimentz and Zinal each other. The result is a ski area with 120 km of pistes, 2 cable cars, 1 gondola, 5 chair lifts and 11 ski lifts. The ski -Zinal Grimentz will then belong to the 10 largest ski resorts in the canton of Valais.

About the ridge leads to the Col de Sorebois. He is part of National Route No. 6 Alpine Passes Trail of SwitzerlandMobility and leads from Turtmanntal forth across the Meidpass to Zinal, over the Col de Sorebois to Lac de Moiry and on over the Col de Torrent to Val d' Hérens.
