Corné du Plessis

Corné du Plessis ( born March 20, 1978) is a South African sprinter.

Sporting successes

Together with Morne Nagel, Lee - Roy Newton and Matthew Quinn took du Plessis in the 4 x 100 - meter relay in the final at the IAAF 2001 World Championships in Edmonton in second place behind the U.S. quartet. The South Africans improved while the national record to 38.47 s

Due to the subsequent disqualification of the U.S. relay runner Tim Montgomery for a doping offense, the South African team in 2005 was awarded the gold medal.
