Corneille (singer)

Corneille (aka Cornélius Nyungura, born March 24, 1977 in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany ) is a Rwandan- Canadian R & B singer.

Corneille was born to Rwandan parents in Germany. At the age of seven, he returned with his family returned to Rwanda. During the genocide in Rwanda in 1994, his parents and his siblings were killed, after which he returned to Germany and eventually moved to Montreal in Canada. There he founded the O.N.E. R'n'B band In 2002 he started his solo career, reaching with his published in September 2002 album Parce qu'on vient de loin charts in France and Switzerland. In 2005 he was one of the guests organized by Youssou N'Dour antimalarial Africa Live Festival in Dakar.
