Cornelis Huysmans

Cornelis Huysmans ( * before April 2, 1648 in Antwerp, † June 1, 1727 in Mechelen ) was a Dutch painter.

Cornelis Huysmans was in his hometown of Antwerp student of the landscape painter Gaspard de Witte. Later he moved to Brussels in the studio of Jacques d' Arthois.

After that lived and worked Huysman to 1702 in Mechelen, and then settled back to 1716 in his hometown down. During the year 1716 he returned to Malines and settled there as a freelance artist.

He painted preferably local and Italian forest landscapes of strong color, which are in the galleries of Paris, Brussels, Dresden, Berlin, Schwerin and Vienna.
