Cornelius Fuscus

Fuscus Cornelius was a Roman senatorial family from the second half of the 1st century.

Cornelius fuscus hit despite its origin from the senatorial order, which he gave up a career as a knight. In the year 68 he brought his hometown having to switch to the Galba's side. As a reward, he was appointed by Galba to the procurator of the province of Illyricum. After Galba's fall, he joined during the turmoil of the Four Emperors Vespasian year 69. The fleet stationed in Ravenna chose him for their waste of Vitellius to their prefect. During the reign of Domitian he was appointed praetorian prefect and a member of the Advisory Board of the emperor. 86/87, he commanded an army in the fight against the Dacians under their king Decebalus, who taught him at the beginning of the Dacian Wars a crushing defeat, and fell against it. Martial ( 6.76 ) wrote a poem grave for him.
