Cornelius Johnson (athlete)

Cornelius Johnson ( Cornelius Cooper " Corny " Johnson ;) ( born August 21, 1913 in Los Angeles, California, † February 15, 1946 in San Francisco) was an American high jumper and Olympic champion.

At the Olympic Games in 1932 in his hometown of Los Angeles, he took fourth place after he had missed a medal in the jump. In the years 1932-1936 he was continuously AAU champion.

In qualifying for the 1936 Olympic Games on July 12, 1936 in New York, the two -color high jumper Johnson and Dave Albritton jointly won with a world record height of 2.07 m.
