Cornish Pirates

The Cornish Pirates are an English rugby union team playing in the RFU Championship, the second highest English league.

The history of the club begins with the founding of the two clubs Penzance RFC ( 1876) and Newlyn RFC ( 1874). On November 22, 1945 both clubs merged to Penzance and Newlyn RFC, later renamed Cornish Pirates. In the 1950s, the club was one of the most famous in England. However, in the following decades, it lost its significance. As of 2005, the Pirates played in Camborne Rec, previously one was in Mennaye Field been at home in Penzance. In 2010 she returned to their traditional homeland.
