Corpen Aike Department

The department CORPEN Aike is located in the east of Santa Cruz province in southern Argentina and is one of the seven administrative units in the province.

It is bordered to the north by the Department of Magallanes, on the east by the Atlantic Ocean, to the south by the Departamento Güer Aike and to the west by the department of Lago Argentino.

The capital of the department CORPEN Aike is Puerto Santa Cruz.

Population

According to estimates by the INDEC, the population grew from 7,942 inhabitants (2001) to 9,506 inhabitants in 2005.
