Corpus Christi Caller-Times

The Corpus Christi Caller - Times is a daily newspaper and the official journal in Corpus Christi, Texas.

In Corpus Christi has been around almost as long a newspaper, as the city exists. In 1883, the first caller and later another newspaper was published with the title Times. In the late 1920s, both newspapers were merged under the title Caller - Times. The current publishing house was built in 1935 and has since been repeatedly rebuilt and expanded. In 1995, the newspaper began with the operation of an internet issue, which has been renamed caller.com 1998. It has a circulation of 51,000 copies on weekdays and 71,000 on Sundays.

The newspaper, which was for many years owned by Harte- Hanks Communications, was acquired on 15 October 1997 by EW Scripps.

In 1939 the newspaper had about 100 employees, today there are 400 employees in full-time or part-time employed by the Caller - Times.

Internationally, the newspaper was known because it was reported to her the first time about the hunting accident in which was involved the Vice President of the United States, Dick Cheney. The owner of the ranch where the incident took place on 11 February 2006, called the following morning to the Caller - Times and informed them about the event.
