Corpus Christi IceRays (1997–2010)

The Corpus Christi IceRays were an American ice hockey team from Corpus Christi, Texas. The team played from 2001 to 2010 in the Central Hockey League.

History

The Corpus Christi Ice Rays were founded in 1998 as a franchise of the Western Professional Hockey League, where they played up to their merger with the Central Hockey League after the 2000/ 01 season. Then the team was inducted into the CHL in which they, for the first time ever, the playoffs for the Miron Cup reached in the 2006/07 season, in the second round it the Laredo Bucks in the best- of-seven series with 1: 4 wins documents. In the 2008 /09 season, the IceRays ended already failing in the first playoff round with 1:2 in the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees.

In the meantime, the franchise changed its name to Corpus Christi Rayz, but the old name Corpus Christi IceRays was taken in summer 2008 again. The franchise was dissolved and replaced by an eponymous team of the U.S. Junior League North American Hockey League Following the 2009/10 season.
