Corsage (bodice)

The corsage (derived from French body ) is an upper body tightly enclosing, strapless garment. Built-in spiral stays stiffen, so no supports are needed. The stiffening replaced at the same time the bra.

In contrast to the corset corsage is less stiff and therefore not suitable to form the body.

It comes in three varieties before:

  • As the upper part of a cocktail dress ( the skirt sewn )
  • As a standalone piece of clothing that is worn as a skirt or dress entertainment pants
  • As lingerie, that is, in contrast to the previous not to wear as outerwear. Often provided with garters.
