Corsier -sur -Vevey is a municipality in the district of Riviera -Pays- d'Enhaut the canton of Vaud in Switzerland. By the end of 1952, the village was called officially Corsier (VD), after that it took for easier distinction of the Geneva community Corsier to its present name.

Geography

Corsier -sur -Vevey is situated 420 meters above sea level. M., 1 km north of the district main town Vevey ( straight line ). With 3305 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) Corsier -sur -Vevey is one of the medium-sized municipalities in the canton of Vaud. History

The place name is derived from the Roman family names Curtius.

Corsier -sur -Vevey shelter since its first mention of the Bishop of Lausanne, but still came in the late 11th century as a fief to the family of Blonay. This was a part of the fief in 1284 the Lords of Oron. With the conquest of Vaud by Bern in 1536 came Corsier -sur -Vevey under the administration of the Bailiwick of Lausanne.
